The Long Wait is Over

October 10, 2010

After the long wait, we finally arrived here in Canada. <3

All packed up. :)

Lol. Only the fridge was left.

Bye-bye!

Riding the plane was exciting. Well, at first. When we transferred planes from MNL to HK to HK to TNT, that’s when I experienced hell. Our trip from Hong Kong to Toronto was 14 hours. Lol. I told papa, “Ano naman kaya gagawin ko sa loob ng 14 oras?”. And so I thought watching could probably hasten the time. I finished 2 episodes of Phineas and Ferb, 3 episodes of Family Guy, 1 episode of The Simpsons. I also watched 500 Days of Summer and AI. Afterwards, my headache worsened. That’s when I had no choice but to sleep in a very awkward position because papa and Andre leaned on both of my armrests. How unfortunate. I woke up. 2 hours left. And we waited until we landed.

What broke my heart. :(

Canada is so much different than the Philippines. Fresh air, perfectly aligned roads, 0 humidity and other stuffs. Before leaving the Philippines, mama told me not to expect because our new house is obviously not as big as our house in the Philippines. Picturing what mama said gave me the idea that our house is one room plus the bathroom. But when we got home, I found the place very lovely. Not too shabby, not too big.

Until now, I am experiencing jet lag. T_T

A Blast from the Past

September 16, 2010

Me in Glico's, a small theme park in Glorietta back in the 90's

Lol at my big eyes. Hello lola!

“I was a little girl alone in my little world who dreamed of a little home for me.
I played pretend between the trees, and fed my houseguests bark and leaves, and laughed in my pretty bed of green.” –
Priscilla Ahn’s Dream lyrics

Last Monday when I came home from school, papa told me to watch a top secret DVD with him and Andre. So he went out for a while to buy dinner and immediately called Andre to watch the secret DVD with us. It turned out to be a DVD of my 2nd birthday and my kindergarten graduation. We were so happy back then. Everyone from our family were so thin including mama and papa. Trish and Tita Cora also came by to watch the video. We laughed and talked about our past memories.

Last Friday was another BFF Friday except Krizzia wasn’t around because of their section’s basketball game. So we left school and headed to Gilianne’s house. Exhausted and hungry, we stayed downstairs for a while to wait for dinner. While Willy and I were secretly reading Gilianne’s text messages, the phone rang. We didn’t really care because we knew it was only Gilianne’s mom or prolly Gilianne’s sister. But the call was for me so Gilianne handed me the phone. And it was papa. “Oh ano? panalo kayo? // Did you win the game?”. Dad asked. “Syempre naman papa! Alam mo kung bakit? Kasi ako yung lucky charm ng section namin. Hahaha! // Of course papa! You know why? Because if the lucky charm of our section. Hahaha!“. I joked. He laughed a bit but then there was a short moment of silence. “Oh yakapin mo na si Gilianne. Dumating na yung visa kaninang umaga. // You can now start embracing Gilianne. Our visa already came this morning”. I was shocked of what he blurted and became a little teary-eyed. I had no choice but to inform Gilianne and Willy who was with me during that time. Gilianne started to cry and Willy remained still and quiet.

I have tons of plans before leaving the Philippines. Like saying goodbye to my old guitar and art teacher, going to the dentist for the last time, watching John Mayer’s concert which is on October 1 and etc. About John Mayer’s concert, I’m worried about buying pricey tickets. I remember the Paramore concert tragedy. T_T Many John Mayer fans who attended the Paramore concert are a bit traumatized about it and are afraid that it might happen again. But I’ve been looking forward to John Mayer’s concert more than my birthday so I really hope I could watch it with Gilianne. :D

Now I see Balikbayan boxes and bubble wraps around the house which papa bought this afternoon. I can now feel that we are really about to leave the Philippines. So tomorrow, I’ll inform my classmates and my teachers about this and might as well drop out after our field trip. </3

I just hope I could use my very ample time wisely in accomplishing my plans before leaving. And I hope I could spend time with people who I got really close with. Wish me luck. :)
